Join us on November 6 and 7 from 12-3 p.m. ET for Introduction to Effective Community Engagement led by CG&G Consulting—three dynamic leaders in collective decision making, democracy building, and advancing equity.

Over the course of two days, you'll learn what effective community engagement is, why it matters, and how it can be transformative in driving equitable pretrial (or other) system change.

Together, we'll explore the value of centering all voices; wrestle with the historical impact on community culture; and engage in skills-building activities to give you the tools and confidence to put all these values-based strategies into practice.

Gwen Wright offers extensive support to community and organizational leaders, local and state governments; and other groups to develop and implement systems and processes for more effective engagement in collective decision-making.  This includes improving communication between government and community residents; strengthening public and private programs; assessing race and social justice initiatives; developing and shaping non-profit agendas; creating reform initiatives; and conducting research.  She obtained her BA in Public Administration from Shaw University, Raleigh, NC and an MA in Public Administration from Baruch College, CUNY, NY.

Skilled in fostering relationships with key stakeholders and potential contractors for achieving organizational goals. Recognized for excellent communication skills and dedication to continuous learning. She holds a BS in Education, MPA in Public Administration and is ABD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution.  

Carolyne Miller Abdullah

Affectionately known as ā€œCā€, Carolyne brings over 20 years of experience working with a variety of informal and formal leaders from all backgrounds and sectors. She specializes in the areas of community building, group process work, democracy building, racial equity, strategic planning, and visioning. Working with neighborhood associations, law enforcement, school districts, governmental entities, and nonprofits, she provides coaching, tools, and resources to support groups in connecting their mission with community goals and aspirations. She has held positions in the federal sector and the larger nonprofit arena. She holds degrees (BA, MA) in political science, public administration (MPA) and is ABD in political science (public policy).
